Makeup Review: Clarins Supra Volume Mascara –Best. Mascara. Ever.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received one or more of the products or services mentioned above for free in the hope that I would mention it on my blog. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. There are very few makeup products that I’m extra picky about. Strike that. I’m pretty picky period. But, when it comes to mascara, I have quite the laundry list of outcomes I expect upon application. For example, I have somewhat straight lashes, so I want my mascara to lift my lashes. I also have this weird fascination with Tammy Faye Baker’s clumpy, over-mascaraed lashes, so I kinda sorta want that look, but in an understated way — think thick, full, volumized. If that makes any sense at all…

So, at the end of the mascara wand, I’m expecting miracles, I mean I want it all in one fell swoop. I want one stroke of magical goodness from my mascara. And I found it! For years, I was stuck on a certain drugstore brand which held the bar quite high for every other mascaras I tried. Then I found another that I thought I couldn’t live without, and that mascara has been number one on my hit list for several years. But now, I’m all about the Clarins baby. Clarins Supra Volume Mascara changed my mascara game to full court press. Slam dunk. Half court 3 pointer. It does it all!!!! It truly is the best I’ve ever had.

Here are the deets on  Clarins Supra Volume Mascara $28

This innovative, double effect mascara visibly creates intense volume for a full, magnified lash look. Gentle formula is enriched with Cassie Flower wax and Panthenol to visibly thicken, smooth and help protect lashes. Rich color pigments create a dramatic “dark lash” effect. Clump-free. Long-wearing.

My results:

I mentioned a few of the must-haves I need in my mascara of choice, but I’ll finish the list here. For a mascara to be perfectly amazing it must do all of the following: Lift, add volume, be super black, not flake or smudge, last all day, have the perfect wand, not be too thick or too thin and more.

Well, Clarins Supra Volume Mascara does all of the above plus some. I was pretty much love at first swipe for me with this mascara. I immediately experienced lifted, thick, dark lovely lashes with just one coat. However, I’m not the type to settle for great improvement when I can have major improvement, so I use two coats of Clarins Supra Volume Mascara with fabulous results. I have compliments on my eyelashes every time I wear this mascara and am often asked of I’m wearing falsies.

The brush head of the wand allows me to easily coat my outer corner lashes to give my eyes a more lifted look, almost a cat eye look without the liner.(I naturally have downward, hooded eyes). One thing I have never really made a prerequisite for my mascara is that my lashes feel soft and flexible after applying it, but now that I have used Clarins Supra Volume Mascara it’s been added to my list. The fact that my eyelashes aren’t “crunchy” while I’m wearing the mascara, let’s me know that’s there are some great ingredients in the formula.
