Skin Care Review: Nelly De Vuyst Micellar Foam BioTense

One thing I know about skin care is that the cleansing process is of primary importance. All too often, we (I’m including myself here) go to bed without taking our makeup off, let alone doing an effective job of cleansing our skin.  Secondly, we typically don’t spend enough time cleansing our skin– even thinking that a splash of water without cleanser is good enough.  Let me be perfectly clear, those are skin care cleansing habits we need to ditch immediately.

How long should you cleanse your skin? After applying your cleanser to dry skin, (the best way for the cleanser to work, unless otherwise directed on packaging), massage into your skin for about 30 seconds.  Then emulsify with water and massage another 30 seconds and rinse.

And regarding that simply rinse and go routine? It’s fine if you are trying to wake up…

Recently, micellar water has become the rage for cleansing, and rightly so. If you are one like me who loves to take shortcuts whenever they are available, a micellar water is the way to go. Micellar water is a water-like substance filled with micelles, tiny cleansing molecules suspended in water. They have both hydrophilic and hydrophobic qualities. It has the ability to trap dirt on your skin like a magnet. It effectively removes makeup and cleanses.

Now let’s take a look at a micellar foam!

About Nelly De Vuyst Micellar Foam BioTense $62.22

The Micellar Foam BioTense is the perfect alternative to the “cleansing milk + toner” duo. Ideal for people on-the-go looking for efficiency and simplicity in their skin care routine. Composed of micelles, this dual solution effectively cleanses and easily removes excessive sebum, make-up and pollution while respecting the skin’s physiological pH.

The Nelly De Vuyst® Micellar Foam BioTense is suitable for all skin types including sensitive skinCan be used for make-up removal and is gentle when used for eyelash extension.

My results:

Using a cleansing foam was a totally new experience for me and I have to say that I LOVED it. Nelly De Vuyst® Micellar Foam BioTense pumps out like a mousse and then you massage it directly into your skin. Remember, this is a micellar foam, so there is no need to add water.

After massaging the foam into my skin for at least 30 seconds (more when I’m removing makeup) the foam is seemingly absorbed into my skin as it “disappears.” Next step is to remove the micellar foam with gauze. I don’t have gauze, so I just use an exfoliating cotton or a cleansing wipe. (If I am wearing makeup, I do a double cleanse with an oil cleanser first).

After cleansing with Nelly De Vuyst® Micellar Foam BioTense, my skin feels refreshingly clean, and it removes every trace of oil, dirt and makeup! Best of all, it doesn’t strip my skin because it’s pH balanced and contains Hyaluronic Acid.  Plus it’s organic skin care!
