Collectible Beauty Bling: Check Out the Prettiest Cosmetics Packaging of the Season
I’m a collector. It’s a horrible vice. But fortunately I have pretty specific items I collect – Deco Era bar ware, elephants, antique lace, different jewelry, tabletop books, and black amethyst glass. And that list doesn’t include my antique furniture and art collection. However, since I’m this die hard beauty junkie, I have also been collecting antique and unusual makeup compacts, lipstick cases and perfume bottles for years.
That brought me to today’s subject, makeup compacts, cases and perfume bottles that I think will have collectible value in the future. I don’t define my collections by someone else’s definition of what’s collectible. I collect what catches my eye, things that I am attracted to. So check out a few items I have scoped out that would be perfect for collecting and giving.
I love little baubles that double as makeup or fragrance containers. These are the best of the season!

I also love gorgeous packaging. Even though I buy budget makeup for everyday use, I am a sucker for a beautiful compact that has that perfect click when you close it.

And I’m a sucker for a beautiful bottle.

And the entire MAC Baroque Boudoir collection is collectible based on the packaging alone as is the Shu Uemura Tsumori Chisato Collection.

Don’t you just hate it when you want to re-use one of those beautiful compacts and the make-up inside is not refillable? That’s the only thing that bothers me about collecting compact make-up. Perfume is another thing altogether. Sometimes I’ll buy a bottle of perfume just because the bottle is pretty. Those cocktail rings are fantabolous (yes that’s the correct spelling). Wendy Williams wore one on her show a couple of months ago. I forgot to put that on my to-buy list but you helped me remember. Thanks!
