Spa(ahhh) Day Sunday: Review-Peter Thomas Roth Irish Moor Mud Purifying Black Mask

Sundays for me are about taking some time out for myself, and treating my skin to an at-home mask in lieu of a treatment at the spa. With all the makeup I test and wear during the week, a mask on Sunday is much-needed. This week I tried Peter Thomas Roth Irish Moor Mud Purifying Black Mask for the first time, and it’s wonderful!

About Peter Thomas Roth Irish Moor Mud Purifying Black Mask $58

peter thomas roth Irish Moor Mud Purifying Black MaskWhat it is:
A purifying, decongesting, and hydrating mask with odorless Irish moor mud to draw out dirt, oil, and impurities as it infuses skin with moisture and vitamins.

What it is formulated to do:
With the highest level of organic content in the world, 9,000 year-old black moor mud is harvested by hand from the Irish countryside. Rich in nutrients, essential minerals, and potent antioxidants, it helps protect against skin damage. Black hijiki seaweed provides vital nutrition and hydration as volcanic ash helps revitalize and detoxify skin. Activated charcoal has a magnetic effect that draws impurities and toxins from congested pores. It minimizes the look of pores, fine lines, and wrinkles, leaving skin looking pure, fresh, moisturized, and radiant.

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
– Parabens
– Sulfates
– Phthalates

What else you need to know:
Hijiki seaweed is a black sea vegetable that grows wildly along the coasts of Japan, Korea, and China and has been used abundantly for centuries.

My results:

The first time I used Peter Thomas Roth Irish Moor Mud Purifying Black Mask I really didn’t know what to expect. Black masks I have used in the past have dried and this one doesn’t dry up on your skin. I guess if you leave it  on for hours it will… My point is that you an get a purifying mask that doesn’t dry your skin, and that’s major in my book.

Rather than drying to a cracking mess that you have to rinse off for hours, Peter Thomas Roth Irish Moor Mud Purifying Black Mask stays moist on the skin while minimizing pores, pulling out gunk and hydrating all in one fell swoop. Love it. It’s almost like a thick gel in consistency, and easy to spread. You do’t need a lot of the mask per use, making it a worthwhile purchase.

My skin is velvety and my pores are refined and practically noticeable after every use. It’s possible to use this mask a few times per week without any negative side affects. As a matter of fact your skin only looks better with more use.
