Spa(ahhh) Day Sunday: DIY Coconut Oil & Sugar Face Scrub or Try Avalon Organics Lavender Luminosity Exfoliating Enzyme Scrub
One DIY face scrub that I love is made with Coconut oil and sugar. And if you are feeling fancy, you can add in a little lavender essential oil. Tea Tree oil is also an option if you have oily skin or acne. If you want to brighten your skin, try adding a squeeze of lemon juice.
DIY Coconut Oil & Sugar Face Scrub — makes about 5-6 applications
What you will need:
1/2 Cup of Coconut oil
1/3 Cup of granulated sugar (preferably superfine)
Optional: Essential oil such as lavender or tea tree. A squeeze of lemon juice for brightening
Mix ingredients in a bowl with a wooden spoon or your fingers. If you choose to add essential oils or lemon juice, do this after scrub is thoroughly mixed. Mix again after adding oil or lemon juice. Put scrub into a small jar for storage. Refrigerate when not in use.
To use:
Scoop out about 2 tablespoons of the Coconut Oil & Sugar Face Scrub and gently rub mixture on face, avoiding eye area. Rinse with warm water, and use a warm washcloth to remove any leftover sugar particles.
Now, if you are a lazy girl, you can always opt for a pre-packaged scrub. One I love is Avalon Organics Lavender Luminosity Exfoliating Enzyme Scrub.
