Short, Sexy, Sassy Hair — Just Look at Halle Berry
Short and sexy hair! So the new trend with so many African American women, celebrities included, is to lose the locks! Freedom from the weave, the wig, and fear of swimming. Just look at Halle Berry. I LOVE her with short hair. I’m a 50+ woman and I think Halle is the bomb. In my book she’s the sexiest woman in Hollywood, hands down. Her body is perfection, her skin is flawless and she is a NATURAL beauty. She definitely hit the jackpot on the gene pool. Halle hit Hollywood with a cute face, slamming body and short hair. Halle went through a what I will call a mid-life crisis and caved into the “Hollywood” look.
However, her short hair evolved into a signature look that we all grew to love. Her face matured and her cheek bones became even more prominent. Those beautiful eyes and bright smile are what makes Halle the ideal candidate for short hair. That short pixie hair was at it’s shining best when she won her Oscar in 2002. (She was also married to Eric Benet at the time. Enough said. ) Okay, Halle just can’t look bad, but you have to admit that she is the bomb with shorter hair. I’m glad she finally came to her senses and realized that her facial beauty is just brought to the fore with her sexy short hair cuts. Halle Berry has sealed her fate as a Beauty Icon for the ages with her signature short hair!
And who can forget that signature hair when she emerged on the beach as Jinx in her Bond Girl moment. Or was anyone actually thinking about the hair? I remember my cousin, “OH MY GOD, when that Halle came out of the water, all I could think was DANG! And I was sitting there with my wife.” Do you think he loved that hair? Maybe it had to to with the fact that plastic surgeons report that she has the number one most requested body. Umm, put me on that list.
But then somewhere along the way, I think it was when she was filming Beloved, Halle went SUPER long. And Halle stuck with the long hair for quite awhile. And she was cute. Very cute, in that sexy girl-next-door kind of cute. Halle’s long hair took her through maternity and her new status of MOM. As recently as February of this year Halle was still sporting the longer hair.
But notice ladies, (or gentlemen, if you are reading the pictures), Halle didn’t take the immediate plunge back to short pixie hair. Instead she did a medium short sassy bob. Then Halle graduated to that awesome short cut that so defines her beauty. I really love that hair too! But I’m destined to cut all my hair off again because I’m insanely jealous of how hot this short hair looks!
At the Spike TV Guy’s Awards in May, Halle was sporting her new to-die-for short short hair and she worked it. But why did she kiss Jamie Foxx like that?? I still can’t reconcile that thought.
Sorry, back to short hair. And of course, Halle is not the only one to jump on the short hair bandwagon. I have friends who have taken the shears to their gorgeous locks and are wearing their short styles with plenty of sass and spunk.
I noticed too at the BET Awards, several actresses have given up on all that long hair and are doing the short hair thing. Woo hoo!!! Count me in. A sign of true beauty is a woman who can pull off short hair and show her face with full confidence and beauty!
And I can’t forget my girlfriends who are rocking the short sassy hair on a daily basis. They are wearing it and wearing it well.
Have you taken the plunge? Have you recently gone for long to short hair? If you have please share your experience! Send a picture! Check back for tips on how to maintain your short sassy hair.

I really like your site, it’s well put together and has very a clean feel. Great pictures and I really enjoyed the articles on your site. I will be taking the plunge this weekend, I’m so nervous that my boyfriend will not like my new style.

I have taken the plunge and I love it! It’s a drastic change for me because my hair has always been long. It gives me a more sassy look and it is so convienient to manage. And best of all, If I wanted to switch it up again, I can make it long in less than 2 hours. But for now, I’m liking my short doo!
