Product Review—Makeup: Tarte Colored Clay CC Eye Primer Stick

If you know anything about me and my blog, you know that I looooooove tarte. Yes, I’m a Tartelette; I heart tarte. But, I don’t think that makes me an impartial judge of their products. As a woman of color, it’s a given that every single product is not going to work for me, but with tarte, I have found that just about everything does. And that my friends is one of the many reason why I’m such a fan of tarte cosmetics.

I just received a few new things to review and I’m thrilled. I don’t use eyeshadow often personally, but I do for my clients, and have found a few eye primers that are okay. But now I have Tarte Colored Clay CC Eye Primer Stick and it’s fabulous!

What it is:
A 12-hour wear, universal eye primer infused with lid-nourishing and color-correcting colored clay.

What it does:

My results:

I first used the primer when I was testing some new eyeshadows. I put the shadows on and they were barely visible, so off they came. Then I applied Tarte Colored Clay CC Eye Primer Stick over my entire lid and POW, that shadow showed up like nobody’s business.

What I love most is that upon application, this eye primer totally evens out the eyelid. I love using this for my clients who want clean fresh makeup without lots of shadows. It also creates a very subtle highlight under the brow bone on me. It’s perfect for getting that “awake” look, as it brightens the eye area as well.

I wore my shadow for over 12 hours without creasing, streaking or fading. My eyelids looked as fresh as when I first applied the shadow. I’m a complete and total fan of this eye primer and recommend it. See my photos below:
