I’m a Winner! Thank You Iman!

I think I can count on one hand stuff I have won via contests. I can’t even remember what it was now that I wrack my mind.  But I woke up this morning and per usual, the first thing I did was check my email on my smart phone.  There was an email that said I won a contest.  A very important contest.  I thought I was hallucinating, so I went back to sleep.

I woke up an hour later and checked my email again.  And there it was — the very same email.  I won!  I won the Foundation Blog contest with Iman Cosmetics. OMG! I got up and used the bathroom and went back to check the email again.  That message was still there.  You are a winner…

My blog posting about my ultimate foundation was a winner. That made me a winner.  And that is still sinking in.  The contest was for Iman Cosmetics launch of her Luxury Radiance Liquid Makeup.  Well, what can I say.  I love Iman. She in the quintessential beauty and fashion icon.

So I started calling folks.  My BFF.  My kids.  My cousin.  I was waking the world up.  Then I tweeted it.  Then I emailed everyone I know.    Then I posted it on Facebook.  And then I just sat back and thought about what this means for me.

As much as I love makeup, I love writing even more.  I’m 100% enamored with the written word.  And to be recognized for something I wrote that was so personal and near and dear to my heart is very, very special.  So today I’m not posting any product pitches, any product reviews, any how-to’s, any trends, any silly cosmetic artifice, it’s about  my foundation.
