Spa(ahhhh) Day Sunday: DIY Sugar & Almond Oil Foot Scrub or Carol’s Daughter Brown Sugar Scrub

unnamed-26Sandal season is approaching — are your feet ready?  Maybe you have cut back on those salon pedicures because you have been hiding out in your favorite booties all winter.  Now is the time to come out of hiding and and avoid a #SandalScandal.
Many of us stand on our feet all day and they feel the brunt of that pressure. If you do, you will love this DIY sugar and almond foot scrub recipe. This chemical-free recipe is budget-friendly and easy-to-do.

You will need:

1 jar with a lid (this recipe is enough for 3 applications)
1 bowl to mix ingredients
1 spoon to stir
Moisturizing lotion or shea butter
1 towel to dry your feet
1 pair of soft socks

almond sugar scrub 1/4 cups of sugar (Fine sugar is preferred)
1/3 cup of Almond Oil
2-3 drops of any essential oil (I love to use peppermint or lavender oil)

Pour 1/4 cups of sugar into a bowl. Add 1/3 cups of Almond Oil (You can also use Olive Oil).  Stir the mixture with a spoon until it becomes a soft paste like texture. Gently massage this mixture onto your damp feet.

Rub this paste into circular motions. Make sure to rub this mixture onto the back of your heels to remove as much dead skin as possible. Once you are done rubbing the mixture onto your feet, rinse your feet with lukewarm/warm water. Remove all traces of the sugar scrub.

By now your feet should not only smell great due to the essential oil but they should feel smooth. They should also look moisturized and  feel revived. Once you are done rinsing your feet, blot them dry and apply your favorite moisturizer or Shea butter onto your feet. Put on your favorite pair of soft socks and relax.Often times we neglect our feet. This simple sugar scrub will not only cause your skin to be soft and moisturized but it also revives your feet.
