Skin Care Review: jane iredale Beauty Prep Face Toner

As an ethetician, I realized several years ago  that using a toner was pretty much unnecessary for me. After entering menopause my skin started changing dramatically. My once oily skin was becoming increasingly less oily and I felt like toner was drying it out even more.

Typically, a toner returns your skin to a neutral pH after cleamnsing so that your application of moisturizer works more efficiently. However, I make a habit of using a cleanser that doesn’t strip my skin, so my pH balance stays in tact.

I was given the opportunity to try jane iredale BeautyPrep™ Face Toner and I was pretty excited because I’m obsessed with the size of my pores. This toner makes the claim that it refines the size of the pores.

My results:

Using  jane iredale BeautyPrep™ Face Toner was a pleasant surprise for me. Used after cleansing, I found this to be refreshing, adding a layer of “clean” feeling to my skin. The good news, is that my skin felt and looked rather dewy, and didn’t feel stripped or at all harsh.

In the few weeks of using jane iredale BeautyPrep™ Face Toner my pores looked even better than usual, and my skin truly felt the benefits of using this toner prior to my moisturizer. I live in Atlanta and the humidity here is crazy, and my skin often loses the benefits of my moisturizer. However, while using BeautyPrep™ Face Toner, I have found that my moisturizer as absorbed more efficiently into my skin.

I also love the pump dispenser in the bottle, it alleviates wasting product.

My conclusion is that whether you need a toner for pore refinement or for helping your moisturizer work more efficiently, jane iredale BeautyPrep™ Face Toner is an appropriate moisturizer, even if your skin is sensitive.
