Simple Pleasures — How About a New Lipstick?
I’ve been hit by our economic downturn as have most of my friends. It’s pretty distressing to see savings and investments go down the drain. Or to lose a job or a home for that matter. But, do we have to live in a state of deprivation? Well, I couldn’t get that fall Dior bag I was lusting for, but I sure could get a new lipstick! That’s the point here. Simple pleasures. Small things that lift your spirits. For me, and millions of other women, it’s a lipstick. No wonder; lipstick is the number one impulse beauty item purchased.
I’m have two preferences on lipsticks — in the nude family, with a glossy finish and REDS! I can’t even begin to count my red lipsticks. NARS, Chanel and Shu Uemura have been my go-to’s for years for perfect red lipsticks. Right now I’m on the hunt for a perfect new red for spring. So I’m thinking some thing bright and cheery. More of a clear red. Online shopping brought me to this choices:
Cargo Botanical Lipstick in Maria, a sheer Poppy Cream Red. Sounds perfect, plus it’s organic and helps out a great charity.

$20 on a lipstick is surely a simple pleasure. I haven’t broken the bank or my diet for that matter. For my guilty pleasure, I’m hitting up Godiva for a truffle right after I pick up my liptick. I don’t think one truffle will tip the scale…

You understand! Thank you so much. I have supported myself since I was a teenager and bought any and everything I wanted. Now, I am a full time live in caregiver for my mother. My glamour girl days are gone.
