Marc Jacobs chose the New York Public Library for his Spring 2025 runway show. For makeup, Jacobs drew inspiration from classic beauty—red lips, defined beauty marks, and rosy cheeks. However, Jacobs chose no lipstick, pencil, or blush for the models’ faces. Instead, makeup artist Pat McGrath played with velvety fabric cutouts to achieve a dimensional makeup look.

“Marc Jacobs’ Spring 2025 collection is a journey through dimension— where silhouettes shift from two-dimensional planes to sculptural, three-dimensional forms. To contrast this, we approached the makeup as a deconstruction of classic beauty: a graphic play on abstraction. A bold red lip, precision beauty spots, and untouched skin created a three-dimensional structure, reinforcing the collection’s progressive exploration of form, space, and perspective.” – Pat McGrath
