Makeup Review: Lime Crime Velvetines Matte Liquid Lipstick in Pumpkin
It’s the time of the year for warm yet vibrant fall colors. So, it’s no wonder that pumpkin hues and scents are literally everywhere. I was a bit curious when my editor sent me a liquid lipstick in the color pumpkin to try out. She knows that I’m pretty much a liquid lipstick expert — I have tried so many colors and brands that I can feel the differences in formula and texture. Plus, there is always the dry lips factor and how long the lipstick wears. So I received Lime Crime Velvetines Matte Liquid Lipstick in Pumpkin in my last package from the original Blinging Beauty herself. But the color pumpkin? Keep reading…
About Lime Crime Velvetines Matte Liquid Lipstick in Pumpkin $20
What it is: A liquid matte lipstick conceptualized and developed by Lime Crime founder Doe Deere.
What it does: Velvetines draws inspiration from Doe Deere’s favorite flower—a red, red rose. Doe used to cut out rose petals and paste them onto her lips as a child. Richly pigmented, this French vanilla-infused formula glides on as a liquid and dries down to a luxurious, velvety matte finish that lasts for hours and hours. Touch-proof, kiss-proof and utterly addictive.
My results:
I really love the color of Lime Crime Velvetines Matte Liquid Lipstick in Pumpkin, it’s perfect for this time of the year and a sexy alternative for a classic red. If you look at my pictures, you can even see how it takes on different hues depending on the light. I received so many compliments wearing this color that I think it’s going to be a permanent liquid lipstick choice for me for fall.
As far as wear, I have had others that last longer on the lips, so I would recommend moisturizing before applying and setting after. Or cover your lips in a foundation before applying Lime Crime Velvetines Matte Liquid Lipstick. It goes on easily and smoothly with a great wand applicator. The finish is ultra matte, which I love.
