Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Minimizing Clay Mask Review

Now that I’m in my senior years, I’m thankful that I had oily skin when I was younger. Then, my shiny T-zone was such an irritation; I was always powdering my nose. The good news is that oily skin tends to age better (if that’s a thing) because of the thickness of the skin. My mature skin is drier now, but I still have large pores. Ugh.

Needless to say, my skin care regimen has changed significantly over the years, but I still need to pay attention to my pores. To that end,  I have a few pore purifiers that I depend on. Among them are masks. Particularly, clay or mud masks. This is where Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Minimizing Clay Mask comes to my rescue.

This Kiehl’s clay mask is a miracle worker. I only wish I had access to it 40 years ago! As I mentioned, I have enlarged pores from my years of oily skin. Enlarged pores can collect oil, debris dead skin, which makes a clay mask is a wonderful choice. So, using Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Minimizing Clay Mask on a weekly basis keeps my pores clean.  Please don’t believe the hype about pores opening and closing; they are not doors. More on this later. I still have the enlarged pores but my skin is clear and clean, and appear smaller because they are clean!

The detoxifying benefits of this mask also keep oil at bay on my nose; so much so that a rarely wear powder.Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Minimizing Clay Mask is recommended  for normal to oily skin types. But, as an esthetician, I would often apply a thick layer of a hydrating serum of mask before applying a clay mask, and it worked well for purifying normal to dry types of skin. This isn’t a recommendation from Kiehl’s, but my own viewpoint.

Below please see my before and after picures below. On my before you can see my obvious large pores. After the pores are cleann and diminished.*Please note that I have lupus and there are visible scars from that
