Editor’s Picks: All the Lipsticks You Need for National Lipstick Day

July 29, 2020 is National Lipstick Day, and one of our favorite days to commemorate. Best quote ever  about lipstick comes from Elizabeth Taylor, “Pour yourself a drink, put on some lipstick, and pull yourself together.”

Lipstick makes a statement. Think Sade. A red lipstick symbolizes power, sexuality, energy, passion, confidence and courage. Women who wear red lipstick are strong leaders, fast paced thinkers, risk takers, purposeful, drivers, strong-willed, high energy, competitive and rational.

On the other hand, if you opt for pink lipstick it can indicate that you are sweet, nice, playful, cute, romantic, charming, feminine, and tender. Or maybe you just like pink. For reference, Sanaa Lathan is a fan of pink lipstick.

Nude lipsticks are a staple in most everyone’s makeup bag now. Did you know that nude colors — beige, tan, bown — are neutral, calm, and relaxing? So, if you wear nude lipsticks you are probably dependable, conservative, and flexible.  Or not…Nonetheless nude seems to be a steady go-to for Bey.

Now, if you love orange lipstick you are no doubt witty, spontaneous, generous, optimistic, eager and bold. You need fun, variety, stimulation and excitement and have energy to burn. However, you are likely to bounce around to different projects or tasks. Solange is known to rock an orange lip.

At the end of the day, we all probably wear more than one color lipstick like our favorite beauty mogul, Rihanna. And why not? We are “every woman.”
