About Last Night: Shark Glam Sponsors Panel Discussion Hosted by The Black Beauty Club

On August 23, 2025, I attended a panel discussion hosted by The Black Beauty Club, celebrating the power, pride, and freedom of our hair journeys. This special evening was sponsored by Shark, spotlighting their newest innovation—the Shark Glam Multistyler, designed to honor every texture and styling ritual.

I enjoyed a vibrant conversation on hair freedom, identity, and beauty culture, featuring dynamic voices from across the industry like Candace Mitchell, CEO & Co-Founder of Myavana, Tiarra Monet, Hair & Beauty Influencer  and Tomi Talabi, Founder of The Black Beauty Club.

Topics open for conversation with attendees included: What hairstyles garner you the most attention? Do you prefer fragrance or science based hair care? When did you feel true hair freedom? How is your hair viewed in a corporate setting?

Of course, I had to throw my two cents into the coversation, considering I was the elder in attendance. Amazingly, in addition to the experts on the panel there was a scientist in attendance who could speak to the value of science leading hair care formulas. I also met Crystal Peters, who shared a plethora of information as a Beauty Executive specializing in Black Hair Care Brands.
