Our favorite tuxedo-rocking, pompadour-wearing singer, Janelle Monáe, has been named the newest spokesmodel for CoverGirl. Right on the heels of fellow rocker with noteworthy hair, Pink, becoming a face for CoverGirl, it appears that the mass marketing cosmetics company is breaking new ground with its choice of spokesmodels.
CoverGirl has been breaking the mold of using only models for their spokespersons, by choosing women like Queen Latifah, Paula Patton , Ellen DeGeneres and Sofia Vergara, so it's no surprise that rockstar the lastest installation of rockstar women have joined their ranks.
"I believe it's time that women truly owned their superpowers and used their beauty and strength to change the world around me," Monáe said in a press release. "Becoming a CoverGirl is truly and honor and a gift: it opens up a new platform for me to inspire women to feel stronger, braver and more beautiful inside and out.”
The 26 year old grammy-winning R&B singer's print campaign will debut this month in a 10-page advertisement in the September issue of Vogue.
