My results with the Truffoire Body Care Collection:
My #selfcare body routine with the Truffoire Body Care Collection was pretty simple.
- Before turning on the shower, I scrubbed dry body with the Truffoire Salt Scrub. I prefer to scrub on dry skin because I achieve a better exfoliation. After exfoliating from my neck down to my feet, I turn on the shower and continue to massage the salt scrub in. As the water hits the scrub, it starts to melt into my skin. I love that.
- After I finish my shower I dry and moisturize with the Truffoire Body Butter. This body butter is more like a body lotion in texture, but nonetheless it absorbs well and moisturizes my skin. I don’t like the scent however, and it got my allergies going!
- The body cream is good for a daily body lotion. I like that it’s a bit thicker than the body butter.
Over the years I have tried hundreds of beauty products from my time as a product expert and a member of the education department at Sephora.com, and one of my main concerns in any products is INGREDIENTS! I have a suppressed immune system and a cancer survivor. So, for extended use, I would never use the these products.
Many of them are carcinogens and banned in other countries outside of the U.S. Of all the wonderful natural oils available, I can’t believe that Truffoire would promote Mineral oil and Petroleum Hydrocarbon in their formulas. These ingredients aren’t usually refined enough for cosmetic use.
I am also disappointed that the brand would promote “paraben-free” and yet use BHT as a preservative. I feel like this is false advertising. The use of Methylisothiazolinone is horrible as this ingredient is known as a skin irritant, allergen and not used in other countries.
There are other ingredients that I’m not happy with in these formulas and they are listed below. My sources for ingredient information are EWG (Environmental Working Group) and Campaign for Safe Cosmetics.
At this time when clean cosmetics are on the forefront of the beauty industry, I think that Truffoire should consider reformulating their products.
