Product Review-Makeup: bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream in Spice

So, I have been a tinted moisturizer user for years and years. Naturally, that has segued into a love for BB and CC creams. Believe it or not, the ever-expanding beauty category has grown again. bareMinerals Complexion Rescue is the latest entry into to complexion market.

Here are the details about bareMinerals Complexion Rescue $29:

bareMinerals Complexion Rescue in 8 SpiceWhat it is:
A versatile gel cream that combines skincare benefits and naturally radiant coverage in one.

What it is formulated to do:
– Mineral-based formulation that combines the best of a BB, a CC, and a tinted moisturizer to provide increased skin hydration after just one week
– Features SPF 30 sun protection
– Comes in 10 shades

This versatile cream achieves dewy, sheer-to-medium coverage to give skin a radiant, soft, and smooth-looking appearance. Formulated with mineral electrolytes to help energize skin, it’s also infused with marine botanicals to help replenish dry skin. It contains heart-leaf globe daisy, an antioxidant, which aids in protecting against environmental stressors—improving the appearance of skin while keeping it hydrated.

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
– Parabens

What else you need to know:
This product is dermatologist-tested and hypoallergenic. It does not contain silicone, fragrance, or oil.

Why I love it:

bareMinerals Complexion Rescue is pretty much amazing.  A dime size of this hybrid tinted moisturizer meets BB/CC cream is all you need to erase every negative thing you see on your face — even under eye darkness. As I stated earlier, I’m a total fan of this product category because it makes your skin look better — not masked. bareMinerals Complexion Rescue continues that tradition by adding ingredients that actually have skin care benefits as well. Love that. I have been using Complexion Rescue for a couple weeks now, including one in frigid Chicago, and my skin felt hydrated and “comfortable.”

bareminerabareminerals smoothing face brushI don’t feel like I am wearing a foundation, nor do I like feeling like I have on makeup. That’s one of the beautiful benefits of bareMinerals Complexion Rescue — it’s so lightweight you will forget you are wearing makeup. And, for brown skin, it’s often difficult to find a color match that doesn’t look to red or too beige, but that is no problem with Complexion Rescue — the color description, the color on the tube, and the color in the tube are all true.

I was sent a bareMinerals Smoothing Face Brush to apply the Complexion Rescue with, and it’s fabulous. Kind of an air brushed finish! But I also applied it with a blender sponge and my fingers and had equally as beautiful results. I love that my skin looks dewy and glowing and healthy when wearing Complexion Rescue! And, it’s buildable, so I apply a bit more under my eyes and I don’t even need concealer.

I chose #8 Spice which is described as being for tan skin with golden tones and it was spot on. What I love about tinted moisturizers et al. is that they are forgiving in that you can usually err a shade lighter or darker without there being a problem. We have two more member of the Bling Team with deeper tones who too will be reviewing the product and we will update with links here when they have completed their reviews.
