Product Review: Carol’s Daughter Chocolat Smoothing Collection

I love chocolate. Chocolate cake. Chocolate truffles—I have a preference for champagne filled. Chocolate labs—the cutest puppies ever. Chocolate men—Idris Elba comes to mind. As a matter of fact, he never really leaves my mind…

Most recently however, I have developed a penchant for Chocolate infused hair care products. Specifically, Carol’s Daughter Chocolat line. I may have been predisposed to having an affinity to this product line, simply because of the name; and the fact that with one inhalation I was in chocolate La La Land. But, it was the efficacy of the Cocolat shampoo and blow dry cream that that sealed the deal.

Here is the 411 about Carol’s Daughter Chocolat:

This collection straightens out all your frizzy situations—from overheating to over-treating. Its main ingredient Cacao, the pure form of cocoa, is the sweetest thing your hair will ever experience because its intensity smoothes and rebuilds your hair’s structure, naturally, giving it a silky-sleek finish that won’t flyaway.

My results:
When I washed my hair with the chocolat shampoo, I noticed several things.
1. My hair did not tangle
2. The shampoo did not create an inordinate amount of foam
3. The smell was delicious—lovely aromatherapy benefit
4. It cleansed exceptionally well—both my hair and scalp.
5. Upon rinsing, my hair was clean, but not stripped.

I applied the blow out cream, but since I do not follow directions so well, I didn’t blow-dry my hair. Instead I let it air dry. And that was okay. My hair dried with little frizz factor and was easy to comb through. After my hair was dry, I applied a drop of the cream to my dry hair, and it was like an instant pick-me-up.

My results from the blow-dry cream:
1. My hair dried without major frizziness.
2. The shine to my hair was amazing.
3. I only needed a small amount of the cream for great results.
4. When applied to dry hair, this product acts as a daily conditioner.
5. More of that great scent.
6. Product did not build up in my hair.
