Makeup Product Review: Laura Mercier Candleglow Soft Luminous Foundation
At fiftysomething, I have a whole new outlook on makeup. Less is more. Glow is a must. None of that 7 layer dip on my face. Just great skin and foundation that keeps me glowing. Well guess what, Laura Mercier must have heard my prayer. She just released her Candleglow Soft Luminous Foundation and I’m loving it.
Here are the details for Laura Mercier Candleglow Soft Luminous Foundation $48:
What it is:
An ultra-lightweight, medium-coverage foundation that creates a soft candlelit glow on skin, day or night. What it does:
Candleglow Soft Luminous Foundation spotlights your skin with a soft glow. Its calibrated blend of radiant-pearl mica, embedded in an ultra-lightweight formula, mimics the reflective glow of just lit candles. This mica fusion is blended with purified water to hydrate skin and allow foundation to glide onto skin for lasting smoothness and natural luminosity. Its blend of lightweight oils locks in this moisture to leave skin balanced, soft, and beautifully radiant, while micro-fine, color-true pigments provide a natural, skin-flattering finish.
Why I love it:
I love the look of gorgeous, flawless skin, which is probably why I’m such a fan of Laura Mercier makeup. What I don’t like it makeup that makes my skin look like I’m wearing makeup. So, when I wear a foundation, I usually moisturize my skin like crazy before application because I want a soft, dewy look. Well, with Laura Mercier Candleglow Soft Luminous Foundation I don’t have to worry about looking radiant or dewy because the foundation does all the work. Nor to I have to wear so much moisturizer to get my luminous look.
When I wear this lightweight foundation my skin doesn’t feel like I’m wearing a thing, and yet it is luminous and glowing. The finish is sheer to medium, yet covers up my imperfections. Also, the finish is so gorgeous, you don’t want to cover it up with powder and other makeup, you just want your skin to show the glow. It truly lives up to its name and gives your skin a candleglow finish. Laura Mercier Candleglow Soft Luminous Foundation wears for hours — I have worn it all day and still have glowing skin at the end of the day. This has got to be my favorite foundation for radiant, luminous skin to-date.
The packaging is gorgeous and luxe; it comes in a beautiful glass bottle. But, there’s a pump, so you don’t overuse your product.

Coverage does not look bad at all. I like a foundation that has more of a natural feel to it on my skin rather than heavy. One product that I really love from Laura Mercier was the illuminators.
