Before I ever smelled Influxious Gold Standard Eau de Parfum, I had already called it as the fragrance I would probably love most. Blood orange, saffron, caramel, vanilla, amber and rum? Those notes sounded as if they had been chosen with me in mind.
Now that I have experienced all four fragrances in Funmi Monet’s debut Influxious collection, I can say it: Gold Standard is my favorite—just as I expected.
If you missed my introduction to the brand, read our Influxious launch story for more about Funmi Monet, her Nigerian-American heritage and the “Golden Thread” of Nigerian ginger that connects the collection.
Meet the Four Influxious Fragrances
Each of the four Eau de Parfums has its own personality, but Nigerian ginger runs through all of them and makes the collection feel connected.
- Magic Hour is the juicy, sunlit fragrance, with watermelon, golden mango and dragon fruit moving into coconut milk, jasmine, salty skin musk and amber.
- Well Loved is the warm, intimate skin scent, blending apricot and cardamom with magnolia, vanilla cream, cashmeran, shea butter and amber.
- High Life is vibrant and magnetic, with raspberry, blueberry, Turkish rose, hibiscus, West African frankincense, sandalwood and musk.
- Gold Standard is the warm, spicy and decadent one—a rich composition of sparkling citrus, saffron, caramel, vanilla, amber and rum.
Influxious Gold Standard Eau de Parfum
Fragrance family: Warm • Spicy • Caramel
Gold Standard opens with blood orange, Calabrian bergamot, mango and Nigerian ginger. That brightness keeps the fragrance from feeling heavy before saffron and neroli lead it into the part I was waiting for: caramel, vanilla, amber and rum.
It is rich without losing its polish, sweet without becoming juvenile and warm in the way I want a luxurious fragrance to be. The citrus gives it lift, the saffron adds sophistication, and the caramel-rum drydown brings the decadence. Gold Standard does not simply smell expensive; it has presence.
Why I Love It
I love fragrances that feel warm, sophisticated and a little indulgent, and Gold Standard delivers exactly that experience. It has the richness I anticipated when I first read the notes, but the ginger and citrus give the composition enough brightness to keep it interesting.
Most importantly, it feels confident. This is not a fragrance that fades politely into the background. Gold Standard has the kind of polished warmth that makes me want to dress for the scent.
The Fragrance Ritual
I see Gold Standard as an evening fragrance, a special-occasion scent or the finishing touch whenever I want to feel especially pulled together. I would apply it to pulse points and let the fragrance warm naturally on the skin so the caramel, amber, vanilla and rum can fully unfold.
Why You’ll Find It in My Beauty Closet
I predicted Gold Standard would be my favorite of the Influxious collection, and it lived up to that expectation. It is warm, luxurious, confident and memorable—the fragrance that feels most like me.
There are four distinct ways to experience Influxious, and Magic Hour, Well Loved and High Life each bring something different to the collection. But for me, Gold Standard is the gold standard.
