That saying, “What’s old is new again” is so appropriate for this review. Tarte cheek stain is an iconic beauty product. It was a trend that became a cult beauty item, and went on to become a “must-have” in every beauty editor’s purse as well as those in-the-know beauty aficianodos. It led the way for more cheek stains to enter the market, but none really match the beauty of tarte.
I’m rather proud of my Tartelette status — I because a believer (not to be confused with Belieber) back when tarte first came on board with Sephora.com. Working with the education and beauty advisor departments, I was the first to get my well-manicured hands on new products. Needless to say, tarte cheek stain quickly became a favorite beauty product.
And it still is…
Now, with new über pretty packaging, tarte cheek stain is back — more colors but with that same bold and beautiful stain.
Here are the deets on the “new” tarte cheek stain:
What it does:
After 15 years of success, the original and cult favorite Tarte cheek stain is getting a makeover. The sleek design features the same great long-wearing formula and size in an easy-to-use slim applicator. This new package delivers a radiant, natural-looking flush while minimizing waste and helping to reduce your carbon footprint. Enriched with t5 super fruit complex™, this iconic product delivers a fresh look and antiaging and skin-restorative benefits with every application.
Love it. Always have, always will.
I love the dewy finish — something you want in your 50s. I love the transparency. It appears as if the blush is truly coming from within, and that’s how blush should look. The finish lasts for hours. Even if you rub it away, guess what, there is a vestige of that stain there that just looks beautiful.
I have used these cheek stains on all skin tones, and they are always gorgeous — from the lightest skin to the deepest. The easy to use design of the cheek stain is still sheer genius. Just glide across your cheek, blend the edges with your fingertips or a sponge and you are good to go. I even cheat and dab it on my lips. But I think tarte got hip to that trick, because now there is a lip stain that complements the cheek stain.
And with this pretty new packaging, it’s a complete joy to take this portable cheek stain out of my makeup bag and apply. Easy. Pretty. Tarte.
I am wearing both flush cheek stain and lip stain in the photo below:
Pro: Stains, portable, gorgeous color, works on brown skin, dewy finish, one tube lasts forever (hyperbole…)
