Product Review: Flower Beauty Shadow Play Eyeshadow Quad in Secret Garden

To be a makeup artist and beauty blogger, you would think that I would have a full-on face of makeup daily. But I don’t. I’m on the minimalist side when it comes to makeup. Concealer, tinted moisturizer, liner, mascara and a lippy – that’s usually it for me. When I’m doing big things, you can bet on a smokey eye and a red lip from me.

I have hooded eyes, and eye makeup on me is a challenge, even for the most experience makeup artists, but I know my eyes, so I can work with great eyeshadows to create a pretty look.

I was recently sent some shadows from Flower Beauty to check out, and I have to tell you that I was so surprised at how great they looked on me, that I think I will be wearing eyeshadow this summer.

Here are the deets about Flower Beauty Shadow Play Eye Quad in Secret Garden$9.98:

My results:

There are two things that I look for in an eyeshadow – pigment pay off and texture. I have to tell you that Flower Beauty rose to the occasion on both accounts – the pigment is fabulous, even on brown skin and the texture is so fine, silky and blendable, that it applies like a shadow that costs much, much more. When I wore the eyeshadow, it lasted for hours without fading (no eye primer), another plus. And what a great deal—4 shadows for 10 bucks!

The Secret Garden quad has a light golden green, a darker green, a lavender and a peachy nude. I love that there is subtle sheen to the colors, not high shine.  The peach is the perfect base color or brow highlight and you can play with the other colors in a variety of applications.  See my photos below.  I also swatched the colors, which I usually don’t do just so you can see how great the pigment is.

I used the nude peach on my brow bone, the golden green on my lid to he crease and under my lashes.  I added the lavender to lid above the crease. Then I added the darker green under my lashes.
