Two of my three daughters suffer from eczema and it’s just not pretty. Stress, school and allergies have all played a part in their flare-ups. I have used every type of topical preparation on their skin, including steroids.
Recently, we were given SheaMoisture’s “First Aid” Medicated soaps.
“Our community expressed their need for products that soothe eczema, psoriasis and inflammation, without synthetic ingredients such as hydrocortisone, which can be harmful to skin when used over time. The treatments we created weren’t born in a lab. We based these remedies on our family recipes, and made them in culturally authentic ways to preserve the effectiveness of these time-tested formulas,” says Richelieu Dennis, founder and CEO of SheaMoisture.
Here are the details about the soaps:
African Black Soap Eczema & Psoriasis Therapy Medicated Soap:
Made using a proprietary blend of African Black Soap and certified organic Shea Butter, the soap is clinically proven to relieve symptoms of eczema and psoriasis. It’s made in a traditional way, just as it’s been done for centuries in Africa. Leaves, cocoa pods, shea tree bark and plantains are burned to an ash, which gives the soap its naturally black color, with coconut oil and shea butter, combined to the mix. Other key ingredients include Aloe Vera, Lemon Balm, Sea Wrack, and Gotu Kola.
Indian Hemp & Shea Butter Inflammation Therapy Medicated Soap:
This moisturizing bar soap is clinically proven to calm inflamed and irritated skin. It features a proprietary blend of Hemp Oil and certified organic Shea Butter — two ingredients known to moisturize skin and reduce inflammation. Specially formulated with Calendula Extract (a natural anti-inflammatory), Neem Oil (used in Ayurvedic medicine for its antifungal benefits) and Tea Tree Oil (reduces redness and has natural antibacterial properties).
If you have eczema or irritated skin, using SheaMoisture Mediated Soaps are a “one and done” experience. Rather than applying loads of topical medications that get on your clothes, smell, may or may not work and need constant reapplication, showering every morning with either African Black Soap Eczema & Psoriasis Therapy Medicated Soap or Indian Hemp & Shea Butter Inflammation Therapy Medicated Soap not only calms skin temporarily, but rids it of irritation long-term. Other eczema medications simply address the symptoms of irritated skin, rather than knocking out eczema or psoriasis altogether.
My daughter Chelsea said, “I love SheaMoisture black soap for it’s moisturizing and soothing properties. I use it from head to toe for relief from ecaema and dry skin. It’s easily one of my all-time favorite soaps.” My other daughter, Taylor, who also has eczema flare-ups loves the fact that these soaps give her instant relief and do not dry her skin out.
SheaMoisture Medicated Soaps have pretty much become a product that we can’t live without in our household.
