What I’m Loving Now: Mary Kay Concealer

I have been a Mary Kay nay-sayer for years. All that pink, the “sisterhood”, the pep rallies and the recruiting hasn’t been for me. So I had never really given Mary Kay products a fair shot. I couldn’t imagine some mom with a sideline gig telling me anything about makeup because after all,  I’m a “professional” makeup artist.

Well, I have made a 180–regarding Mary Kay products that is.

I was recently sent some Mary Kay to evaluate. The first item I dove into was the concealer, as concealer is my top 5  beauty product obsessions.

I tried Mary Kay concealer. And on first usage, I applied too much. And that’s a good thing. This concealer is perfect. Dense, creamy, full-coverage with an amazing color match. (I’m Bronze 1)  And the outcome is that I LOVE this concealer.

If you are familiar with Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer, you would swear this is almost the same product.

Here’s the claim:

Blemishes, little imperfections — nothing that a bit of concealer can’t fix.

Why I love it:

  • Creamy — does not cake under my eyes
  • Full-coverage — even covers my nasty little marks
  • Color — the color is spot-on; not so beige that it turns ashy
  • Price: $10

Mary Kay Concealer gets a whopping 5 Blings!

Thanks for the review, but I would have loved a swatch. What MAC shade would you say suits Bronze 1? I’m about a MAC NC40 at darkest(pretty burnt though, so maybe NW40) and somewhat lighter than NC40. I am in between Laura Mercier’s 8 and 9 in the powder foundation, 8 being the closest though. Do you think you could help?

      Hi Jennifer,

I will update this post with a swatch. It’s about 4 years old, and I still use this concealer in my rotation, I love it. If you take a look at my photos in the “Meet Tracey” section at the top, you will see that I’m on lighter side of medium. I don’t wear M.A.C, but I think that nc40 may be close to my shade. I think that the concealer may be a tad dark for you, and that Beige2 might be a better match. I will dig through my concealers today and get this updated for you by tomorrow. Thank you for stopping by. Tracey.

I'd love to hear your thoughts!
