Makeup Review: Too Faced #Tfnofilter Selfie Powders — Sunrise

If I had Kim Kardashian’s Glam Squad and personal Photoshop guru, I could probably be quite the #selfie queen myself. But I don’t. I have my decent makeup skills and my iPhone to handle all things #selfie related. However, I was recently given a Too Faced #Tfnofilter Selfie Powders Palette to try, and I have to say that I’m beyond please with my #nofilter #selfies!

About Too Faced #Tfnofilter Selfie Powders $36

too faced_selfiepowder_openWhat it is:
A palette with three lightweight, finishing face powders that mimic the effects of photo filters by using light-fragmenting technology to brighten, bronze, and illuminate the skin.

What it does:
Go filter flawless wherever you go with these portable, weightless finishing powders. Each one instantly brightens up your face: Sunrise provides diffused warmth, Totally Toasted bronzes with a smoothing glow, and Moon River brings a soft, ethereal glow to the skin. Formulated with Liquiplush Technology, they’re a unique powder-cream hybrid powder that are seamless to apply and leave the velvety texture of a cream for a flawless appearance. Get photo ready when you wear this powder alone or blended together for a customized, photo filter finish.

This set contains:
– 3 x 0.14 oz Face Powders in Sunrise (brightening diffused warmth), Totally Toasted (bronzed smoothing glow), Moon River (cool ethereal light)

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
– Parabens
– Sulfates
– Phthalates

What else you need to know:
Co-Founder Jerrod Blandino wanted to create a product so women can honestly use the #nofilter hashtag.

My results:

I have to first say kudos to Jerrod Blandino for creating a palette of powders that give the wearer confidence enough to take a selfie and not have to all that filtering nonsense. I mean, we all have pores and  imperfections, but who wants to broadcast that on the internet????

I of course love the packaging; Too Faced is masterful at creating whimsical, fun and pretty packaging, and in this case the packaging is gorgeous down to the imprint on the powders themselves!

The first Tfnofilter Selfie Powder I used in the palette was Sunrise — a vibrant, golden yellow. And I was a little apprehensive to  apply this powder to my brown skin, but the results are amazing. My skin is “filtered” if you will, with my pores minimized and my skin looking practically flawless. The color only warms my tone even more (I’m already golden) and looks perfectly natural. Well, as natural as makeup can look.

You only need a little of this powder on a brush, and then just swipe it over your entire face. I paid more attention to my nose and cheeks, since those are the areas that are most prominent in my photos. And it’s almost like magic — my  skin looks perfect. And I’m 58!
