Makeup Review: NARS Blush in Dominate

I’m an admitted blush freak. I even have a personal mantra, “A day without blush, is a day without sunshine.” I have put my three daughters on notice; when I’m senile, please be sure my blush and lipstick are on point and my wig is on straight.

With that being said, I’ve been a fan of NARS blush since it hit the beauty scene. As a matter of fact, my blog name is a nod to NARS Orgasm blush. I was doing a wedding client, and I hit her cheeks up with my go-to Orgasm blush. One of her bridesmaids out of the blue says, “What’s that cheek bling?”  I told myself that one day I would use bling in conjunction with beauty. And so I did when going through some corrective orthopaedic surgery, I started this blog, Blinging Beauty.

Anyway, today I’m reviewing yet another NARS blush, Dominate, which is from his last release of amazing blushes.

My results:

There is probably no need to say that NARS Dominate is absolutely gorgeous on my skin. Despite the fact that I have golden tones, this deep plum blush looks amazing on my skin. (When I posted on Instagram I received so many compliments.)

What I love the most about NARS blushes is that they are so full of pigment, that you need to use only a small swipe of the brush to achieve statement cheeks! I tend to forget that at times and just pile it on, but no worries!  A little powder over the top and I just buff it down a bit.

Then there is the shimmer factor with NARS Dominate. I don’t know how they do it, but adding that shimmery bling to the blush, just adds to its lusciousness on the skin. Bonus points on the shimmer not being so overt. Rather the shimmer is every NARS blush I have ever used, including Dominate, is subtle, and makes your skin look refined.

NARS blushes wear forever. I mean, Dominate didn’t come off until I took it off with a cleansing oil at the end of my night. So, you do not have to worry about this blush fading or melting in these hot summer months.

I’m sending my daughter one of these blushes as well and will update the post when she takes her pictures. It will be wonderful to see NARS Dominate on two different skin tones. She has such rich “melaninated” skin that I’m sure Dominate will be outstanding on her.
