Makeup Review: Laura Mercier Velour Extreme Matte Lipstick in Respect

I think it’s safe to say that nude lips are no longer a trend, but a look that’s here to stay. That means you need a creamy nude lipstick, a matte nude lipstick, and nude lipgloss and the list goes on.  Then there are shades of nude — beige, peach, pink, flesh (whatever that is for you) an so on. So, I found a two-in-one fit for a nude matte lipstick that fit my skin tone as well with Laura Mercier Velour Extreme Matte Lipstick in Respect.

About Laura Mercier Velour Extreme Matte Lipstick in Respect $28

A seductive, ultra-matte lipstick that delivers intense, single-stroke coverage and long-lasting, creamy comfort. Modern matte lipstick so seductive in color, touch, and texture, the sensation is irresistible. Mattifying powders and silky conditioners envelop your lips in the softness and comfort of velour, sans drying and cracking. The collection of 24 vivid, full-coverage shades provide intense color with a dramatic, matte finish. The slim precision bullet allows formula to grab and glide over lips, defining and filling in one seamless stroke, while the built-in shaper customizes tip for precision lining and detailed filling. It is ideal for creating edgy effects and everyday extremes, with no liner needed.

My results:

Laura Mercier Velour Extreme Matte Lipstick in Respect is an easy to wear matte lipstick because it has a soft feel, not at all drying as your typical matte lipstick. And, with a name like “Extreme Matte”, I actually expected to feel my lips pucker upon application, but that was not the case. The design of the bullet makes is easy to use as a lip liner and the color is perfect for a lipstick base too.

I found that Laura Mercier Velour Extreme Matte Lipstick wears well and the design of the tube makes it easy to throw in your makeup bag for touchups. The color worked really well on me, but I think on darker skins it may be a bit too beige, but that’s okay, I scored!
