This is a power couple that never disappoints. Of late, I have been using Kiehl’s Powerful-Strength Vitamin C Serum; I’m a fan.

Pro: Silky texture, quickly absorbs into skin, works with other products, smoothes and brightens skin. My pores look diminished and I’m obsessed with them!

My fine forhead lines look less prominant. I have lupus which means that I have frequent rashes that leave hyperpigmented blotches on my skin, but I use this serum even when I’m in breakout, and I find that the blotchiness lessens faster.

I love that this serum contains hyaluronic acid, it adds to hydration. This helps plump the appearance of my skin, strengthen the moisture barrier, and promote a more youthful-looking complexion

Hero Ingredients:

Pure Vitamin C-L-ascorbic acid is the biologically active, stabilized form of vitamin C most frequently used in skincare formulations. On its own, it cannot penetrate the skin’s natural moisture barrier effectively; however, it can be manipulated to enhance absorption. It is often combined with other vitamins or acidic substances that enable it to penetrate the barrier. It is most effective in concentrations above eight percent; in skincare products, you’ll generally find it in concentrations between 10 and 20 percent.

Vitamin Cg – A stable derivative of Vitamin C called Ascorbyl Glucoside, used in skincare and haircare for its antioxidant properties. It works by converting to Vitamin C once absorbed by the skin, offering benefits like reduced wrinkles, improved radiance, and a more even skin tone. When applied to the skin, an enzyme breaks down Vitamin Cg into pure Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid).

Hyaluronic Acid –

What Is Hyaluronic Acid?

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally-occurring substance present in almost all of the body’s tissues. Scientifically, it’s classified as a type of molecule known as a glycosaminoglycan (GAG). Biologically, hyaluronic acid’s primary purpose is to hydrate and lubricate the body’s soft tissue. Hyaluronic acid is a popular and useful ingredient in skincare because of its ability to bind with and retain large amounts of water: Studies show a single hyaluronic acid molecule can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water.

Natural / Organic / Vegan: No.  Some Kiehl’s products contain animal-derived ingredients such as beeswax and honey.

Cruelty Free: No, as a L’Oreal product it cannot be considered vegan due to tesuntries.
