Get the Look: Yara Shahidi’s Glowing Skin & Monochromatic Watercolor Inspired Makeup at 2018 Emmys

Black-ish and Grown-ish star, Yara Shahidi made a stunning appearance on the red carpet of the 2018 Emmy Awards, showcasing her radiant beauty and glowing skin.

Yara’s go-to celebrity makeup artist, Emily Cheng breaks down the stars’ gorgeous “monochromatic watercolor-inspired” beauty look. “Beautiful skin is always a must for me!” said Emily. “It is key to a beautiful makeup look – I can’t stress that enough.”

SKINCARE by SK-II:

Before the red carpet after cleansing, Emily prepped Yara’s skin with the SK-II Facial Treatment Mask. It contains PITERATM, the exclusive miracle ingredient found in all SK-II products that closely mimics your skin’s natural moisturizing functions and provides optimal hydration, glow and texture. While leaving the mask on for 7-minutes, Emily squeezed out the remainder of the PITERA-drenched liquid from the package and massaged onto the neck, shoulders and arms for a beautiful, all-around glow. After removing the mask, Emily massaged any excess product into the skin.

Next, Emily used SK-II’s miracle water Facial Treatment Essence – the single most important product to transform skin and create a beautiful canvas for makeup – which contains over 90% pure PITERA. After pouring the lightweight Essence into her hands, Emily gently pressed and patted the product onto Yara’s face and neck with her palms for 1-minute to ensure even coverage of the miracle water into skin. The iconic Essence (unchanged for over 38 years!) provides instant, deep hydration, and leaves skin with a brighter glow, less visible wrinkles, smoother texture, suppler skin, and helps prevent spots.

Finally, after the Essence absorbed quickly into the skin, Emily dotted the velvety SK-II RNA Power Cream onto Yara’s forehead, cheeks and chin, massaging evenly over the face and neck. The luxurious Cream is absorbed into the skin after gently pressing and patting with the palms, leaving skin supple and radiant looking – the perfect base for makeup application.

“I like to use the least amount of product as possible to achieve a makeup look, and without the proper preparation and base, it makes it much more difficult to create a flawless finish,” said Emily.
