Fall Beauty: Why You Need a Hydrating Cleanser

Fall is in full effect, and the air is a bit crisper and cooler. We are officially in “sweater weather.” What does this mean for your skin care regimen? It means that it’s time to transition your skincare to hydrating products. This transition is not just for your moisturizer; it also applies to your cleanser.

WHY HYDRATION IS  IMPORTANT  FOR FALL  SKINCARE

Hydration is fundamental to the healthy functioning of skin. When the skin lacks water it negatively affects many processes within that keep it looking smooth, plump and protected. To keep water in and harmful, external elements out, we rely on a protective barrier known as the skin barrier. It’s made of natural, water-loving and oil-loving molecules that work together to maintain optimal water levels. ~The Ordinary

Look for “gentle,” “hydrating,” or “moisturizing” in the product name, as well as these ingredients, to ensure it’s designed to be non-drying.

We have curated a list of hydrating cleanser from brands we love, trust, and use. Cleansing balms are a favorite as are non-stripping gel cleansers:
