HOW CAFFEINE HELPS DIMINISH DARK CIRCLES & PUFFINESS

how caffeine helps dark diminish dark circles

According to Kiehl’s, caffeine is a vasoconstrictor, meaning it narrows blood vessels. When applied to the under-eye area, caffeine constricts the tiny blood vessels that can cause dark circles and puffiness. Caffeine also has antioxidant properties that may help protect the skin from free radical damage, which can contribute to dark circles. Additionally, caffeine can act as a mild diuretic, helping to reduce fluid retention under the eyes. Johns Hopkins Medicine indicates that caffeine may also help diminish puffiness.

DARK UNDER EYE CIRCLES

We are just a finicky about our eye creams as we are about our morninng cup of joe. That means wehave tried dozens of under-eye treatments — creams, serums, rollons, eye patches — and narrowed our picks down to a few. Or so. To that end, we have cureated a list of some  of our favorite under-eye treatments from our favorite brands.

Pro tip: Apply creams only on the orbital bone, not up to the lash line. Eye creams will migrate up when skin warms up. If this happens, you may find that the cream will clog your tear ducts, contributing to under-eye puffiness.
