Shopping Saturday: The L’Oréal Paris Edit at Ulta Beauty

SHOPPING SATURDAY

Ulta Beauty’s L’Oréal Paris event is the perfect excuse to restock a few tried-and-true favorites and discover something new. For this Shopping Saturday edit, I went category by category through the L’Oréal Paris assortment and pulled the products that caught my attention—from complexion and color to skincare and textured-hair essentials.

The Skincare Edit

Revitalift Triple Power Face & Neck Moisturizer SPF 30 — Pro-Retinol, hyaluronic acid and vitamin C meet broad-spectrum SPF 30 in a daily moisturizer for the face, neck and chest.

Why this new dark-spot ingredient has my attention

Melasyl™ isn’t simply another brightening ingredient. Developed by L’Oréal after 18 years of research and the screening of 100,000 molecules, the multi-patented molecule takes a different approach to hyperpigmentation: it interacts with melanin precursors before excess pigment can contribute to visible dark spots.

Why I’m paying attention: Melasyl has been studied across the full Fitzpatrick skin-tone spectrum, and published research has specifically evaluated Melasyl-containing formulas in people with melanin-rich skin (phototypes IV–VI) and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

That matters to me. Dark spots and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation can be particularly persistent in Black skin, yet deeper skin tones have historically been underrepresented in dermatology research.

In the new L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Melasyl Dark Spot Creamy-Serum, Melasyl is paired with niacinamide + vitamin C for a multi-pronged approach to discoloration.
