Product Review: Peter Lamas Soy Hydrating Shampoo & Conditioner

Peter Lamas Soy Hydrating Shampoo & Conditioner

Peter Lamas Soy Hydrating Shampoo & Conditioner

Do you have dry, damaged or color treated hair? Are you die hard for organic products? Or are you looking for an alternative to harsh shampoos with sulfates? Well, then you need to jump on the Peter Lamas bandwagon with me. I recently began using Peter Lamas Soy Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner, and I am a believer! I have been mostly skeptical of organic products that make big promises for my hair, because typically they fall way short. However, my hair (in it’s various forms, keep reading…) responded quite well to Peter Lamas Soy Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner.

My first encounter with the shampoo and conditioner with with my big hair, more specifically my weave hair. Yes folks, I rock a weave on occasion. Now, because it isn’t really my hair, I tend to abuse my hair weave.  So this head of hair most definitely needed some tender loving care.  And care it received with the Peter Lamas Soy Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner.  Rather than being a tangled mess, or feeling hard and difficult to comb out, my hair was visibly smoother and easy to manage.

My Weave!

My Weave!

My second encounter with that shampoo and conditioner was with my own hair (the hair that sprouts from my scalp) immediately after taking my weave out. For those of your who don’t know, the weave is sewn onto hair that has been cornrowed — so my cornrows were taking out, producing a HUGE afro that seriously needed taming.  Ordinarily, my hair is such a tangled mess after removing the weave, that is needs extra conditioning — a penetrating treatment.  But I put Peter Lamas to the test.  And guess what? It worked like a charm.  Combing my hair after the shampoo and conditioner was a breeze.  And when it dried it was still soft and easy to manage.  Hmmmm.

My most recent encounter with Peter Lamas Soy Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner was after coloring and highlighting my hair. I took the shampoo and conditioner with me to my salon, The Beauty Box Style Studio, in Oakland, and had Shahidah and Tina (my stylist and colorist respectively) try out the goods.  Since this product purports to be for color treated hair, we put it to the test.  And low and behold, my hair come out beautifully.  I’m a happy camper. I should preface that with saying that I’m a picky camper.
