Product Review-Makeup: Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Bronzer in 02

I really love glowing skin, whether it be from a highlighter or a bronzer. But imagine the two — bronzer and a touch of highlight all mixed up in one delicious product. Well, that’s what you get with Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Bronzer. I’m just in love with this bronzer that evens out my skin, adds a touch of sun, while leaving my skin looking simply radiant.

Here are the details about Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Bronzer in 02 $38:

What it is:
Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Bronzer in 02An ultrasmooth baked face powder that provides natural color with soft matte radiance.

What it does:
Wake up the skin, and provide natural color with a radiant, healthy glow for a flawless, no-makeup look. Sheer, buildable coverage lets you customize your glow, while the modern, multidimensional matte finish imparts a hint of soft luminosity. The bronze shades provide a neutral warmth in varying intensities. The ultralightweight formula feels weightless on skin and applies smoothly and blends effortlessly. The smooth, silky, velvety texture feels comfortable, while the long-wearing formula lasts up to eight hours and stays color-true without oxidizing for an even wear. Each tile is hand-mixed with a unique design.

What else you need to know:
Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that helps to protect skin against the effects of free radicals. Jojoba oil is moisturizing and helps soften skin. Spherical powders allow for increased comfort and blendability. This non-dusty, non-drying formula is dermatologist-tested, fragrance-free, and suitable for all skin types, even sensitive ones.

My results:

This bronzer is baked which means that you are getting pretty much pure pigment, not powder as in traditional bronzers. I use Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Bronzer in 02 all over my face in place of a foundation or tinted moisturizer and my skin looks flawless.  I’m wearing  makeup, but no one else would guess that from the subtle finish of this bronzer.

Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Bronzer in 02 has a matte finish, but not that heavy, over-done matte look like you see with other makeup products. Rather the finish is soft, velvety and natural. The radiance is subtle and imparts a “finished” look to the skin without looking made up. I like that the bronzer in 02 is a close match to my skin and just blends into my skin, giving  my skin a smooth look. I like that it is buildable as well, so you can layer and layer this bronzer without it looking heavy and cakey while you decide on the level of coverage you desire.

Also, because the product is baked, a little goes a very long way. I love the idea of using bronzer as a foundation on brown skin, and this Laura Mercier bronzer is the  perfect product for that as it comes in colors that work for deep brown tones as well.

My before and after photos are below.  First is a pic of me au natural, only wearing moisturizer. In the second I am wearing the bronzer and some concealer under my eyes, so you can see how well it covers and gives skin a nice, even finished appearance. And the third with a touch of blush, lipstick and eye makeup.
