Product Review-Hair: Carol’s Daughter Marula (Curl Therapy) Softening Hair Mask

As a new-natural, my main haircare goal at the moment is retaining moisture!  Having moisturized locks keeps your hair feeling soft, springy, and sexy.  Especially for the winter months, moisture is key to combat the dryness that comes with the bitter cold. I was recently sent Carol’s Daughter Marula (Curl Therapy) Softening Hair Mask to review.  After two uses, my curls and I are convinced!

Here are the details on Carol’s Daughter Marula (Curl Therapy) Softening Hair Mask $24:

Carol's Daughter Marula (Curl Therapy) Softening Hair MaskWhat it is:

We love when our curls bounce, shine and flow freely, but they get a bad reputation when they start misbehaving, naturally becoming dry, hard and unmanageable.  Take control and train them to spiral into perfection, staying soft, manageable and easy to define.  Give them the extra moisture they need with this rejuvenating Hair Mask that’s packed with Marula – a rich oil harvested for 12,000 years in Madagascar that instantly restores and softens your curls.  Finally, you can truly let go and let curls flow.

How to use:

Massage a generous amount into clean, wet hair.  Leave on for 5-7 minutes and rinse well.  For an extra-deep treatment, put on a shower cap and sit under a warm hood dryer for 10-15 minutes, then rinse.

Why I love it:

I used this hair mask twice:  once for a wash and go, and once for a twistout.  After shampooing my hair, I coated my strands very generously in the marula mask, covered my hair with a plastic cap, and applied heat with my blowdryer to help the mask deeply penetrate the strands.  Upon application I immediately noticed how soft and buttery the product was.  It glided through my hair with ease and made detangling a breeze.  Not to mention, the smell is intoxicating!  I typically like my hair products to smell good but not too overpowering, and the marula oil mask had a very light, clean scent.

I could already tell through the application that this product was something special, but that didn’t compare at all to the results.  After rinsing out the mask and styling my hair, I found that my curls were much more defined than usual.  Toward the crown of my head, my curl pattern is very undefined.  I usually have to apply a ton of gel to that area just to combat frizz.  The Carol’s Daughter softening hair mask not only defined the most difficult section of my hair, but it also made it incredibly soft to the touch.  I loved how much movement and life my curls had.  Both my wash and go and twistout styles came out wonderfully and remained soft until the next wash-day.
