Product Review—Fragrance: Halle Berry Exotic Jasmine
It is an understatement to say I enjoy perfume and my appreciation of fragrances is eclectic.
When I was much younger I only wore a particular brand of fragrance. After all, my mother wore this legendary designer’s fragrances and as women we often follow in our mother’s footsteps.
In my late 20’s I ventured beyond the department store counter of this fragrance giant and found an abundance of lovely fragrances.
My true love affair with fragrance was now in high gear and I was on a mission, a mission to smell and wear it all. While on this journey to smell and wear it all; I learned I was truly in love with jasmine. Oh the joy when I found a fragrance and it had even the slightest hint of jasmine.
Imagine my excitement when my editor received Halle Berry’s Exotic Jasmine. I mentioned in a post how much I love jasmine, ‘great – it is in your box!’
Happy, happy, joy, joy!
Here are the details about Halle Berry Exotic Jasmine:
The box arrives with the items for me to review and I see it, the lovely pinkish box with the beautiful little flowers. I MUST open this now; I need to just get a whiff.
I spray a light mist in the air, just to take it in, hmm – I smell a hint of raspberry, a slight hint of violet, but no jasmine. Let me try this again, but this time on me. I spray it on my wrist, I take a bigger whiff and among the raspberry, violet and other floral notes, I find a faint hint of jasmine.
With a name like exotic jasmine, I was hoping the jasmine note would be heavier, a little more distinctive. It is not apparent when you first apply this fragrance that you are wearing jasmine. It is a perfectly lovely fragrance, very light – it doesn’t walk in the room before you and I did get compliments while wearing it.
Bling Factor:
Pro: Light floral scent, not too heavy – appropriate for a wide age range.
Con: The Pro is also the con – light scent doesn’t last beyond a couple of hours.
Buy Again: Yes
Price: $20 – $28
Packaging: 4 Blings – pretty pink bottle
Overall: 4 Blings
Slight disappointment for me. With the name exotic jasmine, I wanted the jasmine note to be more prominent, but I do like this fragrance.

You are going to think I am crazy, but I don’t really like the smell of jasmine, at least not an overpowering scent. So knowing that this perfume only has a light scent of jasmine present, I think I might actually enjoy this one. You are right in that the name may be a little misleading (a lot for jasmine lovers).

When one reads or hear exotic, automatically they would think long lasting linger. Upon reading your review I must say I am still interested in getting myself the Exotic Jasmine and I think if I do I may just wear it at home.

It is a very lovely fragrance and I’m sure you will like it. I have a small refillable atomizer I carry when I want to wear this fragrance while I’m out and about. Just in case I need to do a quick spritz and liven it up.
