Product Review: Aveeno Positively Ageless Correcting Tinted Moisturizer

Tinted moisturizer is in my top five beauty essentials.  I love shortcuts, multi-tasking and in particular double-duty skin care and makeup products, and tinted moisturizer falls right into that list.  One product that moisturizes, adds a touch of color, evens my skin and provides SPF is exactly what I need on a daily basis.  (At least when I am in the public light.)

I have tested many, many tinted moisturizers, and of course I have my favorites.  So, when I try a new one, it must hold up to pretty high standards.  I was recently sent Aveeno Positively Ageless Correcting Tinted Moistuirzer in Light to Medium to try.

Here are the details about Aveeno Positively Ageless Correcting Tinted Moisturizer $19.99:

Reveal the natural beauty and youthful energy everyday with POSITIVELY AGELESS® Correcting Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 30. Formulated with ACTIVE NATURALS® Natural Shiitake Complex and vitamin C, this daily moisturizer hydrates and nourishes your skin to help visibly reduce the look of fine lines and skin discolorations. Natural, light-reflecting minerals and lightweight coverage blend away imperfections for even tone and smooth texture. Plus, SPF 30 sun protection helps to protect against damaging UVA and UVB rays.

My Results:

Since I am a tinted moisturizer fanatic, I had a long list of “must-have” results from my Aveeno Positively Ageless Correcting Tinted Moisturizer in light-medium.

1.  Must moisturize.

Positively Ageless moisturized my skin sufficiently, and dried to a non-oily finish.  Since I’m in my 50s, I prefer feeling extra “moist”, but since I wear moisturizer under this tinted moisturizer on a daily basis, it works out just right.

2.  Must provide sheer coverage.

I was sent a light/medium which I thought would be too light for me, as I generally use a medium/dark. My overly particular eye thought the light was too light, but to everyone else the color was a match.  (I probably was nervous about my brown skin matching a light/medium!)

3.  Must minimize imperfection.

I found that my pores were minimized, but my discoloration was not corrected.  I think this is a benefit that comes after a period of using this tinted moisturizer, so I will address this again.  Probably a deeper tone would have helped with the skin discoloration as well.

Overall, my skin looked great—smooth, clear, and natural.  The SPF 30 is the icing on the cake.
