b Michael, a former a former account executive for a Wall Street firm, decided to pursue his creative side and launched a successful millinery line after designing for Oscar de La Renta and Louis Feraud among others. He has dressed a diverse clientele—Beyoncé to Nancy Wilson.
b michael AMERICA RED takes inspiration from the dramatic looks that the designer created through his collaboration with costume designer Ruth Carter for Whitney Houston in the movie SPARKLE.
The collection features dresses and separates with clean lines, striking necklines and dramatic sleeves. The color palette for AMERICA RED is primarily neutral, with a few bold prints sprinkled in for good measure. b Micheal AMERICA RED pieces sell from $155 to $400.
A meet and greet was held at Ayza Chocolate and Wine Bar where bloggers gathered to nosh and revel in the afterglow of the launch.
