Monday Morning Must-Have: Prevent Eye Color from Creasing or Smudging with Mary Kay Eye Primer
Do you ever find that your eye shadow fades? The color does not pop like how it appears in its compact case? Or after three hours at work you have a look in the mirror and your shadow has disappeared? Yea, me too. That’s why priming your eyelids will serve your makeup well! Using Mary Kay Eye Primer does the trick, and it’s our Monday Morning Must-Have of the week. Here are the details about Mary Kay Eye Primer $12: What it is: The skin around the eyes has fewer sebaceous glands and less collagen and elastin than skin elsewhere on the face. And, as people age, the fat pad beneath the dermis diminishes, causing the skin to appear even thinner and the hollowed-out appearance under the eyes. These unique characteristics of eye-area skin require extra attention. Mary Kay® Eye Primer is a waterproof formula that glides on smoothly to extend the wear of eye color and prevent it from creasing and smudging. Suitable for sensitive skin. Fragrance-free. Ophthalmologist-tested. Suitable for contact lens wearers. How it works: Oils and moisture from the skin and from certain products can cause eye color to collect in the crease of the eyelid and smudge and fade. Priming the surface of the eyelid creates a base for the eye colors, increasing their opacity and reducing their ability to move to the crease of the lid or smudge. How to use: Apply a small amount to the eyelid prior to applying eye color. Blend gently using your fingertip. Ingredients: Talc has many benefits. It acts as an anti-caking agent that keeps loose powders free-flowing and helps pressed powders retain good application. It’s also an aesthetics enhancer which improves the application characteristics and texture of a product. Additionally, it’s an opacifier, increasing coverage and reducing transparency of colors. Some may provide a pearly or matte appearance (e.g., eye colors) or add coverage (e.g., concealers). Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A Derivative) is a conditioner that improves the appearance of skin (e.g., skin looks softer, smoother ). My Experience: I was given Mary Kay Eye Primer for an honest review. Mary Kay Eye Primer comes in a small tube, with a little shake it comes out of the tube easily and well blended. It is not thick and very smooth. It spreads nicely and dries quickly. Blending my eye shadow was easy and it worked well with Mary Kay Eye Primer. There were no clumps or creasing. The eye shadow stayed put all day and evening, without needing reapplication of color. The color popped too! In sum, it’s a good and inexpensive primer that intensifies color and fits perfectly in your purse (if you’re like me, I apply my makeup when I get to work!).
