Lip Love: Marc Jacobs Beauty New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel in Moody Margot

I have to admit, that when it comes to nude lipsticks, I’m a late bloomer. I can do a nude lipgloss, but I  have been rather squeamish about nude lips against my brown skin. This is despite the many beautiful images of women with brown skin rocking the heck out of a nude lip. I guess it took Marc Jacobs Beauty and Instagram to get me out of my nude lip funk.

Check out the deets about Marc Jacobs Beauty New Nudes Sheer Lip Gels $30

Marc Jacobs Beauty Nude Lip Gel Moody MargotWhat it is:
A curated collection of nourishing neutral lipsticks for the perfect nude shade.

What it does:
This covetable lip collection breaks the mold of traditional nude lipstick. Its innovative gel formula glides effortlessly over lips, laying down subtle shades and a sleek shine finish with a delicate vanilla scent. Velvet-like monoi butter, derived from the tropical tiaré flower, delivers supreme moisture while nourishing myrrh extract and antioxidant vitamin E minimize the appearance of aging — including vertical fine lines.

Why I love it:

Marc Jacobs Beauty New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel in Moody Margot is so smooth and sheer, (but not too sheer), that it glides right on and stays put.  The shine is subtle, not overly glossy. Since the formula is sheer, you don’t end up with an exaggerated “nude” but one that reads like it belongs on your lips.

Moody Margot is on the lighter side of nude, but I used it with the Marc Jacobs (P)Outliner Longwear Lip Pencil in Nude(ist) which sort of gave it a toned down look and melded well with my naturally darker lip line. See my pics below:
