CeleBeauty Watch: Get the Look—Cate Blanchett’s Understated Low Updo at 2014 BAFTA Awards
Cate Blanchett received the Best Actress award at the BAFTA Awards in London on Sunday night for her portrayal of Jeanette ‘Jasmine’ Francis in Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine and hairstylist Nicola Clarke is responsible for her hair using John Frieda’s Luxurious Volume Fine to Full Blow-Out Spray ($9.99 at drugstores) and Luxurious Volume All Day Hold Hairspray ($6.99, drugstores)!
“I prepped Cate’s hair with Bbow-drying with a small round brush and pinning each section and allowing to cool off. Gently spritzed with John Frieda Luxurious Volume hair spray and tussled with my fingers to create texture before loosely plaiting. I then pulled the plait back and secured with pins at the nape of the neck. Finishing with a generous spray of hairspray to hold the look for the night.”

This has been an updo I have been wanting to try more. I wore my hair similar to this to a party once, but I did a side version of it. I think it looks really pretty with natural curly hair. You can almost get away with more because the curls add more dimension and depth to the style. I think it would be fun to blow my hair straight and then try this, it could be a whole new look.

I would like to see you do that style! I would feature it in the blog.
