Blush Crush: Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour in Rose Bloom

I’m a blush fiend. I really have a hard time feeling “complete” without my blush. So, naturally, I wear blush everyday and consider myself an expert on the topic of blush. Joking…

But, seriously, when I receive a new blush to review, it makes my day. Most recently I was sent some blush from Laura Mercier to check out, and I couldn’t be happier. Laura Mercier a brand I love and respect, and one that I consider a necessary luxury. I received Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour in Rose Bloom and I love it.

Here are the details about Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour in Rose Bloom $26:

What it is:

Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour in Rose BloomA light-as-air, velvety powder blush that sweeps on silky sheer color easily and evenly. With skin-silkening natural botanicals, skin not only looks but also feels beautiful all day long.

What it does:

Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour is a light-as-air, velvety powder blush that sweeps on sheer color easily and evenly. With skin-silkening natural botanicals, your complexion looks naturally blushed and lit from within. Light-diffusing qualities allow a mistake-proof, flawless application that lasts all day.

What else you need to know:

Each color can be removed from its original packaging and placed in a customizable palette.

Dermatologist tested.

Suggested Usage:

  • Smile to find the rounded apple of your cheek.
  • Beginning at the top of the cheekbone, use a patting motion or brush downward toward the apple of the cheek in a rounded horseshoe shape.
  • Apply in light layers until desired color intensity is achieved.

 Why I love it:

I have brown skin, and when I apply blush, I expect it to show up. Well, Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour in Rose Bloom shows up! As a matter of fact, this pigment potent blush (which looks more coral than rose) is absolutely gorgeous on a variety of  shades of brown skin.

A little of this blush goes a long way and it wears for hours without fading. The formula, though full of pigment, isn’t heavy at all, and looks natural on the skin. It’s also buildable so that you can apply until you get the depth of color that you desire.  For the photos below, I sort of piled it on so that you can see the color and how great it shows up on brown skin. Yet, it still looks natural.
