Beauty Review: La Bella Donna Ultimate Pure Perfection Liquid Mineral Foundation
Finding a mineral makeup in liquid form that is a perfect match for brown skin is quite the anomaly. A few makeup brands that are formulated specifically for brown skin have hit the nail on the head with their liquid mineral foundation. But with cosmetic brands that cater primarily to fair-to-medium skin, it often appears that some brown foundation shades are thrown in the mix simply to simply appease the brown-skinned buyer. I was recently sent La Bella Donna Ultimate Pure Perfection Liquid Mineral Foundation to try out and review. Here's the claim for La Bella Donna Ultimate Pure Perfection Liquid Mineral Foundation: A nutrient-rich, creamy mineral foundation with benefits of super restorative skin care. Visibly corrects and lifts the skin so your face appears healthy, smooth, luminous and radiant. Combining Liquid Mineral Foundation with Loose Mineral Foundation creates the perfect protection barrier to guard against outside elements and damaging effects of ultraviolet rays. Ultimate Pure Perfection an aqueous texture with unrivaled qualities that respects the skin. Visibly corrects and lifts the skin so your face appears healthy, smooth, luminous and radiant Contains moisturizing agents to provide hydration and comfort, due to marine extracts that boost cell energy to enhance natural radiance Botanical extracts stimulate cell activity and regeneration wile maintaining anti-inflammatory properties to nourish the skin My results: I tried three colors in the foundation (out of six in the line)—Sophia, Umbria and Amber. Umbria proved to be the best match for me colorwise. The formula was indeed hydrating, a requisite feature for my foundation. The color was not the best match, but since I happen to be a makeup artist, I could work around it. I don't know if the everyday average brown woman would have the patience or skill to blend the foundation for a flawless coverage. For a mineral makeup, I did not see an "ashy" look on my skin—that's a major plus for the mineral makeup debacle for brown skin. Another claim of the foundation is that "botanical extracts stimulate cell activity and regeneration". I'm not so sure about this. I only wore the foundation three times, as I received small samples. Perhaps over time with wearing the Pure Perfection Liauid Mineral Foundaton one would have the benefits of regeneration. From an esthetics perspective though, I am not convinced that enough makeup is ordinarily applied to the skin for there to be anti-aging benefits. I did not see an immediate lifting effect, but my skin was radiant. Perhaps a cumultive effect from using the product produces a lifting effect. However, since I did not use an entire bottle, I cannot address that particular claim. Given the cost of this foundation, I could not see myself trying it again. The range of colors is limited and I would prefer to pay for regenerating ingredients in my skin care, as I do not wear foundation on a daily basis. Bling Factor: Pro: hydrating forumula, luminious finish Con: not enough color selection, Price: $58 Buy Again: No Packaging: N/A Overall: 2 Blings
