Meet Tracey Brown

Tracey Brown

Beauty Expert, Esthetician, Cosmetic Trainer, Makeup Artist, Content Curator, Industry Consultant

This is my Bio:

Tracey Brown, beauty expert and member of the team that built beauty powerhouse Sephora.com, is founder and editor-in-chief of Blinging Beauty.  While at Sephora, she fostered the growth of brands that are now household names—Perricone MD, Dr. Brandt, DDF, Caudalie, Sue Devitt, Stila, and Urban Decay among others.

As an international makeup artist, trainer, and educator, she has worked with prestigious brands—CHANEL, Smashbox, LORAC, L’Oreal Professional, and Laura Geller—while her artistry crosses all mediums—print, runway, television, film and video.

Tracey’s clinical skin care expertise, with an emphasis in acne, anti-aging, and hyperpigmentation, has grown out of her hands-on experience as a salon owner with a paramedical esthetics practice.  Post-secondary esthetic instruction from innovative cosmetic chemists, Dr. Howard Murad and Rebecca James Gadberry has empowered her as a force for empowering her clients to “read the label.”

After working in prestigious San Francisco spas, Tracey was recruited to open the celebrated Red Door Spa on Post St.  Personal product training from Dr. Perricone, Ole Henriksen, and other noted skin care developers has given her an extraordinary product knowledge base.

Tracey is now a brand strategist and published journalist, being called upon for her expertise by such mediums as CNN and CBS.  She is often quoted on Trya’s TypeF, authors several online beauty columns, with her product reviews and editorials counted as press along with major national women’s fashion/beauty magazines.  As a journalist, interviews with Diane von Furstenberg and Iman are cherished moments.  Best life epiphany—learning that makeup obsession is perfectly normal while interviewing makeup artist extraordinaire Pat McGrath.

In demand for speaking appearances, Tracey’s “5 Minute Face” workshop is always a sell-out and her “Beauty Boot Camp” workshops are national treasures.  She was the first beauty expert (2011) on the board of National Women on the Rise (NAWR), named a top 10 social networking website by Black Enterprise, and is a four-star beauty guru on Fab over 50.
