Product Review—Skin Care: Reviva Labs Microdermabrasion Pomegranate Scrub with Pure Magnesium Oxide & Organic oils

If I were stranded on a desert island, along with water and protein bars, there are a few beauty products I have to have dropped from the sky or sent via rescue boat.  Number three would be a facial scrub. No doubt,  island sun would wreak havoc on my skin, making exfoliation a necessity. Even without the stranded-on-a-desert-island scenario, facial scrubs are in my top three must-haves for skin care.

And, I am particularly fond of organic skin care products. So, when I received the opportunity to review Reviva Labs Microdermabrasion Facial Scrub I was quite excited. Not only is this microdermabrasion scrub organic,  but the ingredients include pure magnesium oxide, which IMHO is great for serious exfoliation.  Unlike other crystals used for microdermabrasion, magnesium oxide crystals do not scratch the skin, but polish is without irritation.

Here is the claim for  Reviva Labs Microdermabrasion Pomegranate Scrub:

Our New, Improved Formula! Now even sensitive skin can enjoy microdermabrasion! With pure mild magnesium oxide, pomegranate, and soothing, calming organic oils. Reviva's microdermabrasion pomegranate scrub helps retexturize skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles or rough skin by featuring gentle magnesium oxide crystals and pomegranate instead of abrasive aluminum oxide. And to further avoid irritation as it exfoliates and removes impurities, our Micro Scrub induces a complex of organic oils. Cleanses in depth but gentle enough to use on even sensitive or acne skin.

My results:
When I first opened my  jar of Reviva Labs Microdermabrasion Facial Scrub I was amazed at the creamy texture.  I actually thought that I wouldn't like such a creamy scrub, however, the superfine magnesium particles made the scrub effective and the creamy texture serves a buffer so that over-scrubbing was difficult.

This scrub is supposed to be applied on damp skin after cleansing. But, being the diehard scrub-aholic that I am, I used the microdermabrasion pomegranate scrub on dry skin. Please don't try this at home…

I found that the scrub did an amazing job at not only exfoliating the dead skin cells on the surface of my skin, but it went even further and helps with clogged pores and blackheads. Yes I have two, only two,  blackheads which I hate. (Actually, those blackheads are enlarged pores that fill up,  and they have to be ritualistically empty.)

With using this microdermabrasion scrub by Reviva over the course of a few weeks, I found that my skin was clarified; it was clear and looked like my normal gorgeous beautiful skin should look.

The bonus is that of course this scrub is an organic skin care product. Since I have changed my personal skin care regimen to include all organic products, a certified vegan scrub is a great addition to my beauty arsenal!

Another bonus feature of  Reviva Labs Microdermabrasion Pomegranate Scrub, is that a very small amount goes a very long way. So combined with the already affordable price, it makes for a budget friendly purchase. I would actually consider this scrub to be a must-have for everyone, as it is compatible with sensitive skin.  It's home microdermabrasion without the cost of a visit to an esthetician or dermatologist!

Reviva Labs Microdermabrasion Pomegranate Scrub gets a whopping 5 Blings. And I don't give those out too frequently…

Bling Factor:

1. Pro: Organic, delivers on claims, effective for all skin types including sensitive.

2. Con: Packaging—I prefer  squeeze tubes of pumps, packaging that I do not have to dig my fingers into.

3.  Price: $19

4.  Buy Again: Yes

5.  Packaging: 3 Blings (see above)

6.  Overall: 5 Blings — Even though I'm not a fan of the packaging, the product is lovely and lives up to its claims.
