What I’m Loving Now: Nubian Heritage Goat’s Milk and Chai Body Lotion with Rose Extract

As a brown girl, I practically bathe in lotion. Read my well-lipsticked lips—no ash! Call it cultural, call it obsession, call it whatever you choose, but this woman is not about to be caught dead or alive with skin—head-to-toe—that has not been properly moisturized.

Seemingly, a body lotion is not an item that  needs much criticism, but in a world of mass-produced lotions whose primary ingredients are water and mineral oil, one must be concerned with treating their precious skin well. The search for body lotions that not only keep skin ash-free, but contain good-for-you ingredients is  an ongoing ordeal.

I think however, my search has come to an end. I have been using Nubian Heritage Goat's Milk & Chai Lotion with Rose Extract, and I am one silky. smooth-skinned black woman without a trace of ash to be seen. Here's why…

Benefits: conditions, softens, soothes, hydrates and protects skin.

Why I love it:

Aside from loathing looking like I work with a cement mixer, (aka ashy) I also am an organic ingredient advocate. Living with bouts of leukemia have forced my hand to embracing the world of chemical-free organic skin care and makeup and I am so pleased with the choices now available in what was once an incredibly exclusive niche of not so user friendly products.

Nubian Heritage Goat's Milk and Chai Body Lotion with Rose Extract is the answer to a lotion lovers prayer. The primary ingredient is certified organic Shea Butter. What better ingredient can one apply to their skin for healing and conditioning results?

This ultra rich lotion also includes Cacao Seed Butter, Mango Seed Butter, Jojoba oil and Aloe Vera, which probably explains why it's more akin to a body butter in texture than a traditional lotion.

A small amount goes such a long way. Ordinarily, I use a separate foot cream for extra moisturizing, but with Nubian Heritage Goat's Milk and Chai Body Lotion with Rose Extract, It is just not necessary to pull out another product for my feet. It's does an amazing job of keeping my feet soft and smooth.

It absorbs quickly and effortlessly while  keeping my skin moist for hours. Used after showering at night, I wake up with skin that still feels and looks hydrated. When I use this lotion In the mornings, my skin maintains a lovely level of moisturization throughout the day.

The scent is sweet. Almost intoxicating, and men love it. I think it must be the honeysuckle, as it is the last ingredient on the label. (Makes me think of Stevie's lyrics—"Yes I got some honey suckle chocolate dripping kisses full of love for you.")

The bottle is a generous size for the price—$12 for 13 oz., which lasts like bottles twice its size.

For all my love of this lotion, I do have one pet peeve—the bottle. This lotion is so luxuriously thick, that it is difficult to squeeze from the bottle. If it were packaged in a tube, I'm sure it would be easier to use every precious drop.

Despite the fact that I think the packaging is lacking, Nubian heritage Goat's Milk and Chai Body Lotion with Rose ExtractGets a whopping 5 Blings.

Bling Factor:

Con: see packaging
