Trending-Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Fergie at the Avon Foundation for Women Tribute Gala

Fergie has commented about her reasons why she is so committed to this cause on the All For The Breast blog.

Fighting cancer really hits home for me, because my life has been directly impacted by it. Both of my parents are cancer survivors, and I’ve lost both my grandmother and uncle to cancer. I really admire and applaud everyone who is involved in the fight against breast cancer. I hope that in my own way, I can help inspire and empower women (and men!) who are going through the experience to become advocates for themselves and their health. And I hope that with the more support we can give, the easier the fight it can be for patients, their loved ones, and the community in general.

I am thrilled to partner with Avon and the Avon Foundation to kick off new and exciting breast cancer awareness activities this month, including the #BeABreastFriend campaign. Our goal is to inspire women of all ages to have conversations with their best friends about breast health. You talk about everything with your best friends, so why not breast health? We want to encourage women to promise one another to get screened – so what better way to do this than to ask your best friend? I encourage all readers to check out the #BeABreastFriend video and tag your “breast friend” to help spread awareness! Together, we are all creating a strong statement that breast health no longer needs to be a private matter.

Women and families impacted by breast cancer are my outspoken heroes, so I am proud to share that for every purchase of Outspoken Party! throughout October, $5.00 will be donated to the Avon Foundation for Women to support breast cancer programs throughout the United States. Funds raised will help improve screening, diagnosis and treatment; support patients that are navigating the medical and emotional challenges associated with their disease; and enhance breast cancer education overall.
