Exfoliating is next to cleanliness in my book. I probably have an unhealthy addiction to manual exfoliants aka scrubs. I really, really, love to scrub my skin until it’s red and rosy, which is a bit of a stretch since I’m brown to begin with. Kind of reminds me of Hannah where the Cate Blanchett character flosses her teeth until they bleed. But I’m not bleeding. Not on my face. Although there was that confrontation with the knockoff Ped Egg…
Anyway, when I happen upon an exfoliant that is gentle and yet effective, it’s a good thing. It forces me into being a responsible scrubber.
Such an exfoliant made its way into my soft hands (all that scrubbing has side benefits), and I rather like it. Zensation Ultra Silky Rose Exfoliating Cream was given for me to check out and review and I’m happy to share my findings.
Here are the details about Ultra Silky Rose Exfoliating Cream:
What it is:
What it’s used for:
ZENSATION Ultra Silky Rose Exfoliating Cream cleanses and resurfaces your skin to fight the visible signs of aging. Rosa canina seeds very gently slough off dead skin cells to smooth texture and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by encouraging new cell growth. Vitamin C supports collagen production and neturalizes free radicals while glycerin and sunflower oil moisturize.
My results: I have to admit, it took me a hot minute to get enthused about trying this product, and that’s not the norm for me when it comes to facial scrubs. It was the words “cream” and “rose” in the title. I pretty much dread the scent of rose. And cream was a clear indicator that this was a gentle exfoliator. Mind you, I would probably take fine grade sand paper to my skin if I got desperate.
When I did use ZENSATION Ultra Silky Rose Exfoliating Cream I was pleasantly surprised. It is creamy, and it does have a mild rose scent, but not at all overwhelming as I expected. If you have read any of my reviews in the past, you will know that I use products first, then read the directions. And that’s what I did with this exfoliating cream. However, because of the creamy texture, it did not backfire on me. As a matter of fact, I have a pretty darn fine exfoliating session!
The rosa canina (dog rose) seed powder provided gentle yet thorough exfoliation. The creamy base is in an acceptable proportion to exfoliant. I hate when I have more cream that granules in my scrubs. This one does a fine job of balancing the two.
With the cream base, I would venture to say it’s safe for normal, even sensitive skin to use more than once a week. With my hyper-usage, I’m doing just fine with daily use.
I find my skin is smooth and refreshed when using this scrub. I appreciate that the oils and vitamins lend to an overall great skin care product. I would recommend tZENSATION Ultra Silky Rose Exfoliating Cream for someone with normal to dry skin, mature skin and sensitive skin types. For exfoliating ninjas like me, the heavy duty scrubs are preferred, but the softies like this one get the job done.
Pro: Great ingredients, gentle yet effective.
Con: Better for a dryer skin type
